The former Vice-chairman of the Authority, Donald Martin from Harris was appointed Chairman in succession to Alexander Matheson OBE, Stornoway, in October 2008. Mr Matheson who served as member, Vice Chairman and Chairman retired after 14 years service with the Authority.
The new Vice Chairman is John Murdo Morrison from Tarbert, Harris who has been on the Authority since its inception in 1993. Mr Morrison’s father, Donald Morrison was a founder member of the Harris Tweed Association.
